Officers’ lives were put in peril shortly before 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 9, when they were called to investigate a report of two minors breaking into vehicles around the 6600 block of Loch Hill Road.
Upon arrival at the intersection of Raven Hill Road, officers were working to determine whether a vehicle that was left running in the area stolen when two teens hopped in and sped away.
Despite attempting to stop the suspect sedan several times, the driver refused, “placing the lives of officers in danger,” according to a spokesperson from the Baltimore County Police Department.
At one point, an officer was dragged by the vehicle as he attempted to stop the teens, and the sedan also struck two marked police vehicles while they attempted to flee.
Ultimately, officers were able to track down the two teens - ages 15 and 14 - at the intersection of Northwood Drive and Bentwood Road, and they were taken into custody without incident.
In total, they broke into at least five vehicles, according to police. No charges against the teen have been announced by investigators.
